North Stonington Christian Academy is an independent Christian Academy operated as a ministry of the Second Baptist Church of North Stonington.

The Academy operates in accordance with the Policies and Statement of Faith of the church. A six member Board of Education elected by the church oversees the operation of the Academy.

Elementary Curriculum

In order to meet our goals for excellence, North Stonington Christian Academy primarily utilizes the ABeka Curriculum, complemented with materials from other Christian publishers including Association of Christian Schools International, to provide a balanced and integrated approach to education. The curriculum includes the following subjects: Bible, Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, History and Geography, Spanish, French, Latin, Art, Music, Physical Education, Health, Speech and Drama, Home Economics, Community Service, and Technology.

Activities

NSCA offers a variety of activities for students, staff, and families. We are excited about the opportunity to provide a safe, caring environment for students both during school hours and at special school-sponsored activities. Special student events such as our, Academic Fair, Christmas and Spring Programs, Grandparents Day, visits to a local nursing home, and many others, are means of bringing our student body closer together and providing opportunities to let our light shine in the local community.

About us

Pre-K Program

NSCA provides a state licensed Pre-K program for three and four year olds whose parents desire a safe, nurturing Christian learning environment for their child. Our Pre-K program is a period of transition from the home to school life. Early childhood learning is foundation learning that is basic to other elementary education. Each child is created as one who is unique in his/her abilities, characteristics, and talents. The program incorporates the principle that each child has his or her own special gift from God (I Cor. 7:7).
